Insipid whinings are an acquired taste - best served with red wine, vanilla icecream and err..... Freedom Fries!!!
BBCode - No ruddy idea - I couldn't get any BBC TV pictures from it so reckon it's an unwanted add-on. After going into an insipid mode of deep thought .... a flash of whining brilliance .... it could perhaps be Bulletin Board Code which may have something to do with the DaVinci Code - The 'experts' will soon tell us eh! Don? Steve R? - I just left the "Disable BBCode in this post" box unchecked so seemingly it's 'On' - No idea what it does or doesn't do.
Bacon Butty is what we'll be scoffing in two weeks time at Leicester. Thick wads of bacon beatifully and inspirationally wrapped betwixt two slices of either toast or normal bread (you call it ham over in your neck of the woods - Our bacon is about the size of a cow! ) If you ever come to visit Olde Merrie Englande, or more precisely my house, you'll be indoctrinated in the ritual of eating it without getting the melted butter and juice all down your shirt sleeves!
Now then .... Any more willing victims or thoughts for this Forum. Jim has kindly told us he's managed to register but hasn't given us the benefit of his inner most thoughts - Good idea/Bad idea/Brilliant idea/Improvement ideas

Nigel, quit nagging me. I'll tell you my inner most thoughts regarding this Forum, already.
BTW: BBCode is a special implementation of HTML. Thought you'd like to know.
I like the sort feature and the ability to limit the posts to the last week, 2 weeks, etc. I also like the feature that sends me an email when a new reply is posted to remind me to check it out.
My only concern is whether all replies on a specific topic will remain within that topic. As long as the Post Reply button is clicked, they will. But if Post New Topic is clicked by mistake (or possibly intentionally) then the wicket gets a bit sticky and the order of the universe is upset. i.e. things go amok. We see this on the GGang all the time. Get's confusing.
Since this is a public forum, I trust we won't be conducting AYA Board business here.
Bacon the size of cows? Yet another difference between you Brits and us Yanks. We get our bacon from pigs. Much easier to handle and fit on the bread. _________________ Jim Krause

Nagging mode switched off ...... for now!
Straying off topic may be an annoyance - It seems to happen in other Forums of this type and ilk. From what I've seen there are three options:-
1) Everyone sighs, curses the 'new topic perpetrator, informs them of their abject misguidedness and then gets on with life.
2) The Forum Moderator(s) can and do move a wayward to the correct topic subject - No doubt that can be done here if necessary.
3) Errr - there was a third, but I've forgot what it is!!!!
You are absolutely coprrect. We will not discuss AYA Board business on an open forum. HOWEVER I have seen other forums (eg Pprune) which have 'selective membership only' features, which the clever ones amongst us could research and find what buttons need to be pressed etc.
That's it for tonight - It's nearly beddybyes time and I can hear my hot waterbottle calling.
Cheers

Ni, I just added eveyone to a user group titled AYA BOD. I still have to read up on how to utilize this user group. Presently I'm the group administrator. I'm not sure how you guys are going to want to do this. The option will be there for you anyway... Maybe this could be your first poll... _________________ Steve Roberts

Not sure how the AYA BOD thingy works - From what I can deduce it may allow any board member to moderate a submission -
How one changes, in practical terms, anything one considers not worthy of AYA Forum , still eludes me! Training required!
Aah! I've just noticed a couple of new buttons on the top right (next to the 'Edit' button - The 'Delete this post' and the 'Address of Poster' .... Is that what we use to "fix" things! and is it only the AYA Mod listed people who have these additional command buttons and are able to do this?
As for a Poll - How does one do that?
Great flying today - Loads of nice weather and tonnes of slumptious curry!! _________________ G.One

Ni, I thing anyone can edit but I could be wrong. I'll create a psyudo member probably a Cessna pilot who has no rights at all. Right now everyone who has signed up (except me) is a board member, so we are all created equal.
I'll create a silly poll here. Hmmm what shall we deside? How about what color should the chicken be painted in 2008?
Hey I thought you were going flying today... Oh that's right it's night already over there across the pond... _________________ Steve Roberts

OK here goes an atempt from that dreaded Cessna pilot. Keep him away from my Yankee. I did notice the edit button was gone. I'm not sure if that will be the case for my own posts as well.
Steve, I'm now editing editting C150's scullerous debasement of our AYA website. This MUST be due to our new authorisation you've given us a moderators as I don't believe we could do it before
Why not try and edit a post whilst acting as a 'normal' person (ie C150)
Chickens MUST be yellow so let's vote on the colour of its lipstick!!!!!
And yes, it's 21:00hrs here at the moment.
Cheers
Ni
That was easy. Yes a member can go back and edit and delete their own posts. They cannot however edit another's posts. Moderators however can edit others posts. I think so anyway. Do you guys have the edit button on everyone's posts or just your own? I have it on everyone's posts but I think I'm set up as admin not just moderator. |

FlyBoy - Just in case you haven't noticed - I've editted C150's message - I reckon you have given the AYA BOD people the power to moderate by editting and/or deletion of anyones posting.
Can't see a POLL yet!? _________________ G.One

Yes I did see that. The poll is up there you should be able to see it. Great idea change the poll to be chicken lips... BTW I voted as C150 but not as aa1bflyboy. _________________ Steve Roberts

Hi-
My name is Christian. I live in Kalispell, MT.
I own a AA-1 Yankee, still being reassembled after disassembly from previous owner.
Just a test
