I bought my replacement AA1 spinner from Fletchair ...ooh! About 3 years ago (Taking it out through US Customs was slightly humerous - They took me aside out of the airport queue to explain my intentions with the "Missile Head"
They (Fletchers) brought a few of them (spinners) up to the Fredericksburg AYA Convention - I'm surprised they don't have any more or can't advise on where to get them - Have you tried AirMods (www.airmodsnw.com) ? _________________ G.One

I have a later thin skinned spinner with a small crack laying around the hanger. The earlier spinners were thicker, that is what is on my AA1B today. This one is off an AA-1A. _________________ Rich Harrison

They can be scab patched, I have seen several with that repair. Not sure about welding, I would have to defer that to one of the experts. _________________ Rich Harrison

I'm certainly NOT anything like an expert but I have heard of them being welded and, like N32R, have seen patches - It all depends on the split I suppose.
Then, of course, you have to sort out the balance problem introduced by doing such repairs _________________ G.One

I Have A AA1C with a composite spinner which was field approved.
The back of the 337 has the following:
Installed composite spinner assembly on Grumman AA1C, SN 0061, in accordance with STC SA 00178AT and TCB Composite Co. Report ST 0086AT-A Revision 2 dated Feb. 22, 1993, and TCB composite Drawing 301, revision A, dated June 2, 1994.
The STC is actually for a Piper PA28 series with the same engine and prop. This modification is a result of the unavailability of a stock spinner assembly. This modification is of the same quality and/or better. No change on weight & Balance.
I am asking for field approval.
My AA1C has an 0-320. Hope this helps.

I realize this is late, but I just sold my spinner to Fletchair.. It was in GREAT shape and ready to go (if your plane is green. )
Give Garner a call and ask him about the stuff they have. _________________ Ben Kamen
